For our Visual Communication II class, we were assigned to redesign a logo for a local Philadelphia organization. I chose LoboMau because it delves into fashion, while also incorporating culture and ethical influences. We were tasked to research the organization, such as what they do and what their mission is. My research mainly found that LoboMau uses recycled fabrics in its clothing, and I wanted to place emphasis on that being its main unique trait as a business. Their name also stems from the Brazilian-Portuguese name of “the big, bad wolf”.
I ended up making two options of a redesigned logo icon, word marks, and developed mockups on how they would use them. The most fun I had in exploration within this project timeline was learning how to use the bitmapping feature within Adobe Photoshop in order to create a graphic, fabric look.
